QA Engineer (Selenium, Java, .NET)

Position Terms: Full Time. Average 40 hours a week.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced quality engineer to join OPIE. We are looking for a selenium, java and .NET expert to work closely with our developers to enable and encourage them to design, implement and automate tests in an efficient way, by providing them with the right tools, frameworks and guidance. We hope that you will help out dev teams become empowered to iterate rapidly and deploy code several times each day while remaining confident that test infrastructure will provide short feedback loops on issues introduced. We are looking for someone whose a strong enough developer to write feature code, strong enough tester to test just about anything and a strong advocate for maintaining a high quality bar. The work environment is dynamic, collaborative, fast paced and challenging. We are a long running stable company but run our development like a startup.

Responsibilities and Activities

  • Prepare test cases based on user stories
  • Partner with developers and testers to improve and automate test and release processes
  • Build and maintain quality assurance tooling and infrastructure
  • Maintain test result reporting and visualization
  • Conduct application load testing
  • Identify and document defects discovered during sprint and regression test cycles
  • Conduct compatibility testing
  • Assist in troubleshooting of items discovered post-release
  • Work with Agile team to design, plan for and estimate upcoming features
  • Contribute to the teams effectiveness and efficiency through educating, supporting and setting an example of best QA design and dev practices
  • Making testing an integral part of the dev process
  • Communicate with product, design and tech stakeholders
  • Contribute to the long term vision and strategy of the domain of expertise

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • B.S Degree in sciences
  • 3+ years of experience in testing web based applications; manual and automated testing
  • Automated testing using Selenium
  • Experience creating/maintaining Selenium automation scripts written in Java.
  • Load testing (JMeter preferred)
  • Experience working on an Agile team
  • API Testing (Moderately important)
  • Understanding of browser compatibility issue
  • SQL – experience writing basic queries
  • JIRA
  • Jenkins ( experience executing Selenium tests with Jenkins a plus)
  • Passion for quality and what it means to ship high quality
  • Experience working with other developers to ensure that systems are designed for reliability, performance and testability
  • Possess an agile mindset are comfortable with constant changes and fast to adapt to them
  • You are a passionate mentor and teacher
  • Advanced knowledge Reach-JS, MSSQL database, c#.NET, Entity Framework
  • Knowledge of distributed version control system
