Accounting Associate

The OPIE Family of Companies is looking for an Accounting Associate to provide financial and administrative support working under the supervision of the Financial Operations Manager and in coordination with the accounting team. The primary responsibilities will be to drive forward accounts receivable processes ensuring accuracy and efficiency in invoice creation, processing and monitoring incoming payments, securing revenue by verifying and posting receipts and handling A/R collections for all of the OPIE Family of Companies customers on a monthly basis. This is a full-time, salaried position expected to require a minimum of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Compensation rate will be available during interview process.

What skills do we believe are needed and important for this role?

  • 1-2 years of experience in accounting and finance or related field, required
  • Detail-oriented with a healthy respect for due dates
  • Excellent listening skill with a strong ability to collaborate effectively with other team members
  • Ability to communicate well by phone to develop positive relationships with our customers
  • Knowledge of and experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office applications

What will you do?

  • Preparing all invoices
  • Process incoming credit card payments and transactions related to recurring credit card charges
  • Verify discrepancies by and resolve clients’ billing issues
  • Pursue collections on A/R through established processes and contact with customers
  • Special projects as assigned
