Job Description:

The person filling the Marketing Manager role will be a working with the decision makers of our organization to plan and execute a marketing strategy that drives the success of quarterly and annual corporate initiatives.  This will be accomplished by working closely with the Corporate Events Manager, Customer Success team, product strategists and sales team to successfully understand and market our value proposition in order to drive brand awareness, increase attendance at live and virtual events, improve customer engagement and increase sales.  Responsibilities include managing the marketing team and facilitating successful execution of high level product, event, and public relations promotion strategies; planning, producing and analyzing for a variety of marketing channels; working with interdepartmental teams to identify the desired goals and outcomes and measure results with various analytics tools; optimize success through marketing automation tools when applicable; and reporting on outcomes monthly and quarterly. This position requires excellent leadership, organizational, time-management, and communication skills by a goal oriented and results oriented team player.

 

 

Essential Functions:

Campaign Development & Execution (40%)

  1. Execute end-to-end multichannel marketing campaigns and digital communications that drive brand awareness, sales of products and services, and increase customer attendance at live and online events.
  2. Provide creative input and assistance in the execution of branding, marketing, and communications projects
  3. Maintain alignment of assets and communications with defined quality standards to ensure that individual campaigns are top-notch
  4. Ensure effective audience targeting, successful campaign launch and optimization with accurate measurement of campaign and event performance
  5. Create, deploy, and measure email-marketing campaigns for organizational efforts, to include sales, client communications, membership and events.
  6. Coordinate development of collateral such as emails, ads, presentations, event marketing materials, infographics aligned to customer personas, customer success stories and testimonials, and more.
  7. Draft dynamic content and promotional materials to including writing and editing for print, web, email, etc.
  8. Conduct research to analyze customers’ behavior (e.g. purchasing habits, trends and preferences)
  9. Participate in generating new concepts for blog posts/ articles, social media content and continuously evolving a corporate creative formula

 

Team & Project Management (40%)

  1. Manage marketing department through clear objectives and realistic deadlines. Delegate project needs through established workflows and coordinate group efforts.
  1. Oversee and approve marketing material, from website banners to hard copy brochures and case studies
  2. Manage performance of staff through one-on-one, performance reviews and evaluations
  3. Develop the careers of the content generating team members via effective hiring, regular feedback, and challenging work
  4. Build and manage content calendars and project timelines.
  5. Establish needed goal markers for larger campaign processes and end results.
  6. Optimize dissemination of interdepartmental communication needs based on campaign and project type and audience. 
  7. Facilitate internal communication workflows and processes.

Additional Job Responsibilities (20%)

  1. Prepare marketing reports as needed.
  2. Administrative/programmatic support duties for the marketing department as needed.
  3. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; ie: online training, trade magazines, following marketing influencers
  4. Perform other duties as assigned based on the needs of the department and organization.
  5. Write and edit press releases
  1. Lead the content generating team
  2. Build strategic relationships and partner with key industry players, agencies and vendors
  3. Actively hire talent as business requirements are needed

Travel Required: 

  • Travel and attend required conferences throughout the year.  This will equate to 2-3 events per year on average.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • BS degree in marketing or relevant field
  •  5-7 years of marketing experience
  • Experience in a deadline-driven, project-oriented environment
  • Experience managing a team/project
  • Excellent knowledge of social media marketing (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.)
  • Experience in Adobe Creative suite 
  • Experience in MS Excel or Smartsheets
  • Experience in CMS (WordPress preferred)
  • Experience in CRM
  • Experience with Google Analytics and Google AdWords
  • Understanding of basic HTML
  • Understanding of SEO elements such as metadata, link building, etc.
  • Experience in email marketing systems & automation (ActiveCampaign)
  • Strong business, marketing, communication, and project management skills
  • Flexible and highly organized with intense attention to detail without compromising speed in execution
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Knowledge of brand management and marketing industry best practices
  • Knowledge of AB testing
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Ability to objectively review content
  • Ability to utilize a CRM, like NetSuite
  • Ability to optimize HTML code to optimize design of emails
  • Ability to produce persuasive content
  • Ability to define customer personas
  • Superior written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently on concurrent projects
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong professional working relationships with colleagues and customers in team environment
  • Ability to objectively review staff performance and abilities
  • Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with atypical and stressful circumstances
  • Self-directed ability to learn new technology without formal instruction
  • Customer focused internally and externally
  • O&P practical knowledge a plus, but not required
