OPIE Undertakes Organizational Restructuring for Growth and Sustainability

Change Initiatives focused on Customer Intimacy, Innovation, and Operational Efficiency

OPIE has made vital organizational changes that reflect a significant investment in its growth and continued evolution as a comprehensive healthcare IT leader serving the orthotics and prosthetics (O&P) field.

The overall goals of the organizational changes include a renewed focus on customer intimacy, technology innovations, and operational efficiencies. This will be accomplished by centralizing operations and strategies to establish management structures that are aligned with best practices in Lean-Agile business processes and utilization of cross-functional experts.

OPIE has expanded from solely providing software tools and support, to adding integrated business service solutions and educational programs. These initiatives are geared toward making independent O&P practices more agile and capable of using data analytics to drive business decisions in order to thrive in today’s healthcare market.

OPIE’s investment in staff development and organizational culture will have direct, positive impact on the customer experience and the quality of its products and services.

Paul Prusakowski, CEO, said, “We have created new roles within our organization and are adding team members to ensure we have the correct mix of skill sets and experiences to position OPIE for continued sustainability and growth. As we move into the future, we will continue to serve O&P providers around the world who rely upon our products and services.”

As a part of the strategic initiatives, OPIE has created new roles within the organization. A few of those include roles on the senior management team that will guide overall strategic direction –

Priya Rudradas, Chief Operating Officer , has come on board to shift the organizational management processes to best practices defined in the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). She comes to OPIE with a background in software development, instructional design, and healthcare IT. Priya was previously the COO at Shadow Health, a healthcare IT company with a focus on innovative allied health education. She has a Master’s Degree in Computer Science, an altMBA, and coursework towards a PhD in Educational and Instructional Technology.

Christine Aytug is the Executive Project Manager to CEO, Paul Prusakowski. She has a Master’s in Business Administration from Duke University, and she has extensive experience in project management and physician education from her time at Glaxo Smith Kline. She will support the CEO with project management of key research and development initiatives.

Brooks Pistole, Business Intelligence Liaison, will oversee process improvement and testing of new software tools and services at Gainesville Prosthetics. Brooks will participate in the OPIE Choice MasterMind groups beginning in 2018 to work with other OPIE Leaders on key practice improvement projects. He has 36 years of experience in Aerospace Mechanical Engineering, and he has focused on AS9100 compliance, design process optimization, and quality metrics. He will be instrumental in transitioning R&D initiatives into a real-life, clinical environment resulting in advances in processes and tools for users.

Sandy Howell, Strategic Project Manager previously the Director of Consulting Services, will refocus her efforts on global business development and special projects related to business intelligence and financial strategies. Sandy has a long history in O&P. For over 20 years she has worked in various finance, IT-related, and management roles.

“We have an incredibly talented team of passionate people, and we will leverage their strengths and talents as we continue to focus on our business and how to best serve the O&P family,” said Prusakowski.
