OPIE Software partners with the Limb Loss and Preservation Registry to support National Initiative

Gainesville, FL - August 10, 2023 — The Limb Loss and Preservation Registry (LLPR) has partnered with OPIE Software to facilitate access to nationwide data on effective clinical practices and technologies used in the treatment of individuals with acquired limb loss, congenital limb difference and limb preservation. The LLPR was developed to address a gap in knowledge around these evidence-based practices and technologies, and historical barriers that prevented participation by healthcare stakeholders.

“The LLPR has the potential to collect greatly needed longitudinal outcomes data related to limb loss, limb preservation and prosthetic rehabilitation from hospitals, patients, and prosthetics providers,” said Paul Prusakowski, Owner, and CEO of OPIE Software. “OPIE Software is supportive of the LLPR and enables your practices to easily participate in this initiative."

The goal of the LLPR is to generate knowledge about which advances and treatments impact the care of patients with limb loss and limb difference by bringing hospital and O&P provider data together into one hub. Consistent with quality registries that focus on other health populations, the LLPR collects universal data elements and links hospital-, provider- and patient-reported outcomes over time. As a collaborative data hub, the Registry strives to alleviate significant data gaps, increase access to care, and improve care models related to orthotics, prosthetics, and limb preservation in the U.S. As of this writing, the LLPR has collected data on over 50,000 patients.

In support of this objective, OPIE Software has developed coordinated reporting that is available to its users who choose to participate. The LLPR is a proud Silver Sponsor of the 2023 AOPA Assembly. For more information and to learn how to participate, please visit LLPR at AOPA Booth 333 and OPIE Software at AOPA Booth 813, or visit www.llpregistry.org/join. All OPIE Software customers contributing data to the LLPR sign a participation agreement prior to joining.
